Package: vcxsrv
Version: 1.17.0.0-3
Hello,
I use x2goclient mainly on debian, but I had also some older windows
version which worked fine. Now I wanted to upgrade windows version
to the latest versions (4.0.5.1-2016.06.05), because there are a lot
of important security updates.
But I noticed problem with syncing of clipboard content from
LibreOffice to windows. Some accented characters were uncorrect.
If I start the older version of x2goclient for windows, everything
is working fine.
Trying to find out more, I noticed, that the problems occurs
because of the newer version of vcxsrv.
My previous x2goclient used vcxsrv versions 1.15.2.2 and clipboard
syncing was without problems, the current x2goclient versions
uses vcxsrv 1.17.0.0 and syncing does not work correctly.
Any idea what could cause bad behaviour in the new vcxsrv versions?
Best regards
Pavel Hanák

Hi Pavel,
Sorry to hear that you are running into this issue.
Could you please test with just VcXsrv 1.17.0.0, and not the rest of X2Go
Client?

Message #15 received at 1044@bugs.x2go.org (full text, mbox, reply):
Hello Mike,
I am not sure, how should I test just with VcXsrv,
I tested with different versions of x2goclient where
are also tried to replace directory x2goclient/VcXsrc
with different versions of VcXsrv.
The last attempt was
- x2goclient (4.0.5.0) / VcXsrv (1.14.3.2) - everythin OK
- x2goclient (4.0.5.0) / VcXsrv (1.15.2.8) - everythin OK
- x2goclient (4.0.5.0) / VcXsrv (1.17.0.0) - bad accented characters in
clipboard
It looks like clipboard syncing would work only for iso8859-1
characters.
Best regards
Pavel

As your experiments show, it is indeed a VcXsrv issue, and the way you
chose to debug it is totally OK.
What Mike#2 meant with "only VcXsrv" was that you should run a regular
SSH session with X-Forwarding (PuTTY can do that, for example), have
VcXsrv running, and start the application (in your case, LibreOffice) on
the shell prompt. That way, X2Go isn't part of the equation and
whatever bug you're seeing must be caused by another component.
No need to try that for now, though, your test results should be
sufficient. Mike#2 will let you know if not, I'm sure.
Kind Regards,
Stefan Baur

Message #25 received at 1044@bugs.x2go.org (full text, mbox, reply):
I confirm that with just VcXsrv (both upstream and the one shipped
with X2Go) everything is ok.
The problem appears only when using X2Go.
